KUCHING (July 18): Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak’s (YPS) Unity Night concert at the main stage of Tapak Kaul Mukah on Saturday (July 20) will feature the multiracial YPS Sape Ambassadors.
The event starting 8pm promises to be an unforgettable celebration of unity in diversity through a captivating cultural showcase of songs, music, and dance performances, YPS said in a press release today.
The YPS Sape Ambassadors, representing diverse ethnic groups, will be the evening’s centrepiece.
The Melanau, Iban, Bidayuh, Chinese, and Kadazan Dusun musicians will perform with the sape in rhythms of unity, exemplifying the diverse harmony and cultural richness that make Malaysia unique.
The objective of the Unity Night concert is to celebrate and promote unity in diversity while shining the spotlight on Melanau cultural heritage.
YPS has curated an exciting line up of stage performances that will captivate the audience and hopefully leave a lasting impression of Sarawak’s harmonious cultural vibrancy.
The programme includes Melanau traditional dances, Sibu singer Wanie Alias, and entertainers Iwan Dasri and Morse Uotye.
YPS said Kaul Mukah can be one of the platforms to showcase the beauty of unity in diversity.

“All thanks to the Persatuan Melanau Mukah, as they have entrusted and given us an opportunity to highlight the state’s success in bringing the various races together.
“We are proud to showcase our talented YPS Sape Ambassadors and to promote unity by showcasing Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage through this stage show,” he added.
YPS is inviting all residents of Mukah and Sarawak to join the celebration.
