Kota Samarahan (Oct 21) : Deputy State Secretary, Datu Buckland Bangik (Administration) made a working visit to Majlis Adat Istiadat Sarawak (MAIS) at their office in Kota Samarahan recently.

He was welcomed by Datu Ronnie Edward, the Ketua Majlis of Majlis Adat Istiadat Sarawak as well as staff members of MAIS.

Datu Buckland was then given an introduction of the mission and vision of MAIS as well as their present and up coming activities.

In his welcoming speech to MAIS, he urges MAIS staff, especially the junior staff to further their education and be the 'subject-matter expert' in the adat.

This is the his first working visit to MAIS upon his appointment as the Deputy State Secretary. He took the helm from Datu Ik Pahon who recently retired from the state civil service. Previously, Datu Buckland was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS). The position has been taken over by Dato Ir Alice Jawan Empaling.
